Thanksgiving to God for His Enduring Mercy

The other day the newest teenager in the family was reading in Psalms and later that evening at devotion time he looked over to his big brother and said, "do you remember reading Psalm 136 on the way to the hospital the night Dad died?"  Then big brother looked it up and they recalled how they were granted some peace and hope on their way that night, not knowing what they would arrive to - they arrived to a police officer saying that Dad was "gone".  My then 10 year old didn't understand what that meant until on the way home he heard is older brother sobbing and now a friend was driving, not his older brother.  It broke my heart once again to hear a "first" of that night.  I didn't know.  It is brings back the surrealness of that night, yet such peace and affirmed hope in the fact that God did comfort us with His word and promises.  His mercy does INDEED endure forever ♥

Psalm 136

 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
