Update and PRAISES !

Dear Pastor, Church, and Praying Friends,

Several days ago we came to Kampala, Uganda to pick up Wendy's Dad, Mom, and sister who had flown in to visit.  We picked them up from the airport late Tuesday night and were planning on leaving for South Sudan early Thursday morning, but on Wednesday Hannah and Nathan began getting sick and running fevers.  We found out Thursday evening that both of them had contracted serious cases of  malaria, and they were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.  At one point Nathan's fever topped 105 and he became confused and unresponsive.  The doctor said he was very close to having a seizure from the high fever.  I called my family to let them know what was going on and ask them to pray.  I was not able to send out an email asking for prayer because I did not have my computer at the hospital with me, but through phone calls, text messages, and social media word began to spread about Hannah and Nathan's condition and the need for prayer.  I began receiving emails assuring me that people were praying for us and our children.  I'm glad to report that Hannah and Nathan came home from the hospital yesterday, and are both recovering very well.  All the malaria parasites are out of their blood, and now their bodies just need to recover and regain the strength they lost while they were sick.  Both have been eating and drinking very well today and have not been running a fever.  

Words cannot express how thankful we are for all those who have been praying for us over the past three days.  Whether you were aware of our specific circumstances or not, God heard and answered your prayers.  We can clearly see the providential hand of of God at work through it all.  We know that He was working on our behalf in answer to your prayers.  

We are planning on making the fourteen hour drive back to South Sudan on Monday & Tuesday.
