The blessing of grandchildren...

Here is Poppa trying to steal a kiss from his O'Deller in August.....she loves to tease and then she ended up surprising him by finally giving him one....I love the expression on his face as she landed one on his cheek.

He had such a love for her....he was right outside the birthing room when she came into the world and after she was cleaned off he came in and asked everyone to bow their heads in prayer.....that is how the midwife remembers him....the tall cowboy that prayed with everyone!

We have many pictures of the two of them together .... and even now she looks at them and knows it is her Poppa. She will only remember what we will tell her someday and she will have the pictures to see how he adored her. She is such a blessing.

During this time of great loss and sorrow, especially on the days that are the hardest I find it comforting how the Lord uses O'Deller as a healing balm to us.....she has such a bright and content personality and at 16 months has an amazing vocabulary......last night she was running around playing with her dolly and stuffed puppy, singing " e i e i ooooooo", she is very good at making all the animal sounds. I could go on and on and on about her.......

Have I told you that grandbaby number two is on the way? Lord willing, he or she will arrive in late January or early February. We are all anxiously awaiting this addition to our family and the baby will bring even sweeter joy to us and further healing I'm sure.

God is good and He is faithful. We are to lay it all at His feet......praise Him even in our darkest trials. He will lift us up .... I have been reading out of Acts this week and almost couldn't put it down last night as I was reading chapters 17 - 20......we think we have it bad sometimes and don't think we can lift up our heads and hearts to Him who saves....read about the things Peter, Paul, Silas and Barnabas went through while spreading the Gospel. They were beaten, scourged, thrown into prison after prison and JOYFULLY sang songs of praise while in bondage......the miracles God was able to work through them because they were willing vessels were amazing ....He is still the same God then as He is now, He still can work miracles....but are we willing vessels? It is humbling to read yet full of promise and blessed assurance ♥
