Verse of the Day

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Life's Journey

A seed once fell in forest still.
It’s purpose later to fulfill
For now, it lies in soil rich
By years in growth it’s strength consists.
*
As winds of time and change went by,
The tree did struggle to survive.
Yet through it all, the storms and trials
To heaven it reached, yet for awhile.
*
Of purpose still it had no reason.
Why it grew in proper season.
It’s only goal became the sky
To climb beyond the others high.
*
And so it did without complaint.
By now content, with less restraint.
It watched as those below began
Their Journey up, by same demand.
*
With leaves so broad and branches true,
Still with these, it sheltered few,
For they would not protection use,
Of life and death they were confused.
*
The goal of heaven, now in reach,
The truth of ages it turned to teach
For that which it did long compete,
Was not, itself the greatest feat,
But by the Journey was joy complete.
*
The lesson here is burning bright.
For all who claim the breath of Life.
For that which seems a road of sorrow
Is turned to Joy upon the morrow
When Christ in Heaven we find and follow.
*
Can more be seen within this story?
Of it use and future glory?
Not in words by pen and paper.
By God alone will nurse and shape her.
*
Men came later, the tree to fell.
Her wood to use and hammer well.
Onto structures great and small
Offering shelter again to all.
*
Some did cut her limbs with precaution
Not wanting to waste so precious an option.
With craft and skill they shaped and milled
To breath new Life into what had been killed.
*
Her history has now been renewed and rewritten
Much as a man will accomplish by children
Even though dead, by standards of earth.
Lives on in the children of spiritual birth.
*
Never to die or relinquish it’s wrath,
For God, our souls, did fully convert.
